Moon Township, founded in 1788, is a Second Class Township within Allegheny County. The township is approximately 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and is conveniently located in close proximity to a number of Pennsylvania's major highways, rivers and railroads as well as Pittsburgh International Airport. Since the inception of Pittsburgh International more than 50 years ago, Moon has been an economically thriving community with a number of corporate headquarters, hotels, restaurants and retail businesses located within its borders.

The township has continued to experience a tremendous amount of economic growth and today is home to a number of high-profile national corporations, including FedEx Ground, GlaxoSmithKline, Eaton Electrical Group, Nova Chemicals, Inc. and Chevron USA. These companies reside in Moon’s Class A office parks, such as Cherrington Corporate Center, Airside Business Park, Airport Office Park and Edgetowne Square. The township is also home to Robert Morris University, which has a very strong business curriculum and educates nearly 5,100 students annually.

These corporations and Robert Morris University have generated infrastructure improvements to help attract, retain and develop businesses. They have also helped Moon keep the tax base strong with some of the lowest taxes in the region.

Moon Township’s population of 24,000 is part of a highly skilled and motivated workforce. The community offers a great deal of amenities for businesses and families looking to relocate. There are a number of housing developments to accommodate families at all income levels. Additionally, there are office and business parks and available land to fit every company's needs.
